UPDATE: Sorry for the delay; I wasn’t online the whole day. I emailed the contest winner a few hours ago. Please message me ASAP (before 10AM today) to claim your ticket. Thanks for joining everyone!

Thank you very much Splintr.com, the country’s first independent online music channel, for giving me one of these very special tickets to Nine Inch Nails’ “Wave Goodbye” Concert! The event got me really excited but I just realized, since this will be the band’s farewell concert and all, that one of NIN’s biggest fans should be able to watch it. So I’m giving my ticket away. Yup. I have ONE (1) PATRON ticket for this Wednesday’s event so for those who are interested, just answer this simple question: WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE NIN MUSIC VIDEO AND WHY?

The most interesting answer/comment will win the ticket. Deadline of entries will be on August 3 August 4, NOON. You can also share a video chop of the event for us to feature. :D

Drop your comments, SUBSCRIBE FOR UPDATES and hope you guys have a great weekend! :D

3. Pinoy Expats Blog Awards 2009

Now on their 2nd year, the Pinoy Expats Blog Awards recognize blogs made by OFWs (Overseas Filipino Workers) and Expats around the globe:

The top 10 Pinoy Expats/OFW Blog AWARD or PEBA is a search contest aimed to recognize and honor the exemplary work of blogging Pinoy Expats/OFW. PEBA wishes to present their blog work and bring their creative talents to light. We want to highlight the inspiring blogs of expatriates and learn from their lessons, their stories, and their work normally contained in their blogs. Considered as “Bagong Bayani” (new heroes), we believe we ought to hear their voices and amplify it for the world to hear.

A blog to be nominated should write an original blog entry (Filipino, English, Taglish) about the theme: “Filipinos Abroad – Hope of the Nation, Gift to the World.” or “Pinoy Expats/OFW – Pag-asa ng Bayan, Handog sa Mundo.” Various ways of expression is allowed: Photo/s, poem, song lyrics, music, video, cartoons, drawing, with written post relevant to the theme.

PEBA’s initial rule is very simple. We asked the blogging community to nominate their favorite blogs; we select the top 10 from various locations around the world and honor the winners with award badges and widgets.

If you want to join or nominate your favorite Expat blogs, just go to the Pinoy Expats Blog Awards site.

4. The Philippine Blog Awards 2009

Nominations are now open for the 3rd installment of the Philippine Blog Awards! It will be a great and exciting year for PBA as they introduce new awards and categories for the ever-growing and diverse community of the Philippine Blogosphere. One good, new upgrade is the inclusion of a new major category – Best Videocast (which was merged with Best Podcast last year)! Here is the guidelines from the official Philippine Blog Awards site:

I. It must be Filipino owned

II. It should not be a blog that belongs to a publishing or media groups.

III. Blogs that focuses on the Filipino and the Philippines (ie Filipiniana) can join the Foreign Blog/Pinoy at Heart Blog

III. Philippine Blog Awards Founders, officers and members of the Philippine Blog Awards Board of Directors, their blogs, blog projects, posts, videocasts, photos and podcats they worked on are automatically disqualified from being nominated.

IV. For the Best Blog Division: The blog must have been established before June 1, 2009.

V. For the Top Ten Post for 2009: The post/videocast/podcast must have been been published before June 1, 2009. Only one post per blog can be submitted.

VI. For the Special Awards Division: The nominee and blog for the award must at least have been established, introduced, and blogging before June 1, 2009.

VII. Submitted blogs and post should contain the necessary authorization to use the images, audio, text and other content.

VIII. Only the owner/blogger of the blog can fill up and submit the nomination form.*

NOTE: If you know any blog that should be a nominee, you can refer them to the page or by filling out this form.

The coming months will be an awesome season of recognition and celebration. May these events produce not only more quality blogs but also more friendships and new acquaintances among Filipino bloggers as well.

Fearless Forecast: The Paramihan Challenge Top 12

Fearless Forecast: The Paramihan Challenge Top 12

headerbg

This is it. After weeks of waiting and watching Johnny Stunts’ shameless Paramihan stunts, over 60 entries have been submitted by midnight yesterday. This video contest, I believe, is one of the most well-received projects of its kind. Usually, without the help of TV advertising, contests like this only get about 10-15 entries. So kudos to Globe for doing a great job on making the contest viral somehow.

Now, all these 60 participants are waiting for the moment of truth. By tomorrow, 12 finalists will be picked by the judges for the chance to win 100,000 bucks! And since Video Chops can’t really wait anymore, we are predicting the deserving videos that will be filling up the Top 12 slots. Here they are in random order:

So there. That’s Video Chops’ Top 12 Paramihan Challenge Fearless Forecast. Do you guys agree with the list? What’s your Top 12? :) Don’t forget to subscribe and be updated.

Introducing Our Flippest Contest Winners!

Introducing Our Flippest Contest Winners!

And the time has come! Thank you guys for the 11 flipp entries to our Flippish contest “What’s Your Flippest Flippish Video?” The comments were read and judged by 3 individuals. It was not really about the video choice but the reason behind why they loved it. So after getting the Top 3 votes from each judge, we got TWO (2) winners!

2nd Prize (P500 worth of cellphone load):

Rommel of Inghinyero.com! He voted for “Campaign Ad” from the show Test Tube. He said:

Direk Campaign Ad is currently my favorite.

Its kinda timely. The spoofs of TV commercials and their dialogues are very much parallel to the typical TV ads. You can clearly see how politicians crumble and whore themselves to seem decent and clean in the viewer public’s eyes.

Elections for 2010 is coming. I hope that FLippish would do more vids that cater these topic.

Here’s the video:

AND THE WINNER IS (P2000 YSA Skin Care Gift Certificate and P1000 cellphone load)

Nino AKA LILWIZ! He voted for “Koryans in Da Pilipins”. He said:

Flippish. . .The name speaks for itself that this new and 1st ever online tv show is now setting a new trend to everyone. The use of this Web 2.0 technology that showcase Filipino stuffs is very catchy, and the videos featured here are original. . .

For my favorite VIDEO, I have to give props to ” KORYANS IN THE PILIPINS ”
This video is very interesting, people would watch it because a lot of us is curious na ” bakit nga ba madaming KOREANO dito?? ” :) . It is true that the Philippines nowadays are resided by some Koreans. One of the reasons ??? They go here for english education. Some go here just for a long vacation too or some stay here as immigrants. I was surprised when I watch the show that SANDARA is also the reason why there here. Hmmmm, maybe they are inspired or something.:)hehehe. Owww well, I think that we should always welcome the Koreans when we see them walking around in our territory. Let us show them the greatest trait that we have( BEING HOSPITABLE ):) and I know that having them as our friend will also help them improve their ENGLISH skills. My Korean ex improves a lot. . .They are also hospitable believe me. . .I actually have Korean friends from my old school and i hang out with them a lot of times. I agree about their traits that was shown in the video. . .

OH BY THE WAY, nice Korean look KRING!! hehehe :p

And here it is:

Congratulations guys! You can claim your prizes tonight at the launch party or any date that is convenient for you. Thanks for joining!
